Rudi Hygino

House Manager, Soho House
United Kingdom

Born in Lisbon to a Portuguese mother and Brazilian father, I was raised in a working-class neighborhood by my single mother, who instilled in me the values of integrity and resilience. I come from a family with a strong legacy of standing up for what’s right - my closest cousin played a central role in Portugal’s 1974 Carnation Revolution.

After nearly a decade in the Armed Forces, where I learned the true meaning of leadership, I pursued a degree in Hospitality Management, graduating top of my class nationally. My career began with an internship under a MasterChef Portugal judge, opening doors to roles in Portugal, Angola, Brazil, and the UK. From luxury hotels to major brand launches, I’ve consistently delivered excellence in developing operations, people, and guest experience.

Today, as House Manager at Soho House, I remain committed to people-first leadership, building strong teams, and fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
